We'll Call This...Bad Day

My bad day is hopefully coming to an end VERY soon. As soon as Kyle pulls into the driveway, I'm sure exhausted and beat after playing in the snow with middle schoolers all day, I'm hoping my bad day will end. I've been home for 3 days straight and I really started feeling it today, today of all days when I didn't have a car to actually drive anywhere. Maddox and I walked to a coffee shop for a bit and hit a couple of little shops on the way home. That was fun.

The fun ended when it took Maddox 3 hours to fall asleep for his nap. This is becoming a regular occurance in our household and it's getting old really fast. It's hard for me to relax when I'm having to go into his room every 5 min. to tell him to get back in bed. Once he finally fell asleep at around 4:30, I couldn't let him sleep more than 30 minutes because he won't sleep tonight. He still needs a nap, he just is having the hardest time actually falling asleep. I need him to nap, I don't know how he actually feels about it :-)

After 3 hours of frustration, I moved some things around in our dining room and laundry room trying to make things more functional. I leaned 3 heavy white shelves against my refrigerator and forgot about them until I opened my white refrigerator and all three of them fell straight onto my left food. I'm quite sure I broke a small bone and I'm quite sure that a doctor wouldn't do anything about it except tell me to stay off of it and let it heal. It hurts and it's black and blue.

Add achey foot to achey pregnant bones and I'm one not very happy pregnant lady right now.

Sore, tired Kyle will be home soon and we'll just be one very sore grumpy family. But, at least the child work will be divied up 50/50, that's what I'm looking forward to!

I hope the end of your day was much better than the rest of it!

I'm sorry to hear about your day. It sounds like your little guy is probably needing to get out more energy in the morning, maybe? At least that is the case with my boys. If they don't burn off plenty of energy in the morning, naps are more difficult. since it is so cold, it is less appealing to go outside, but if I just do it, bundle them up and let them out to run around even for just 20-30 minutes, it wipes them out especially since it's so cold. Then they sleep great. ANyways, may the Lord give you strength. I know how hard days can be, believe me! Take care!

Love,Candice

ps
sorry i have still not yet emailed you!

Here's something I do with my five year old when it is too cold to play outside in the snow. I fill my bathtub up with snow, give him measuring cups, spoons, cookie cutters, colored liquid soap and let him go at it! That way he can play and I don't have to freeze outside or worry about him getting sick! When he's done playing, you just rinse the tub out. It's great!

Wow!That is a bad day. Bryce has been taking up to 2 hours to fall asleep at nighttime and has been taking up to an hour to fall asleep at naps. I totally understand that getting old! You sound like you could use a vacation! Your poor foot two. You might want to at least get your foot looked at in a couple of days just to make sure there's not serious damage. hope you feel better soon.

Hang in there. Things can turn around quickly. I'm editor over at momtrends and this month is just for you--I am gearing the editorial (and contests!) just for moms-to-be.

Is there anything in particular you want to learn about or want to win?

I'd love your feedback.

Thanks!
